About the OVPSA
The Ogden Valley Parks Service Area (OVPSA) is a special service district dedicated to maintaining and enhancing public parks and recreation in the communities of Ogden Valley City and Huntsville, Utah. The OVPSA is directly responsible for the operation, care, and improvement of Eden Park and Liberty Park. The OVPSA also works with the Huntsville Township who directly oversees Huntsville Park through an interlocal agreement.
In addition to managing these community parks, the OVPSA also supports a variety of recreational programs and events that promote healthy lifestyles, outdoor activity, and community engagement. As a local government entity, the OVPSA is funded primarily through property taxes and is committed to ensuring that the Ogden Valley remains a vibrant, active, and welcoming place for residents and visitors alike.
The OVPSA is governed by a board of trustees, whose members are all full time residents in the areas it serves. The board of trustees are currently appointed by the Weber County Commissioners and/or by Huntsville Town to serve four-year terms. However, the Ogden Valley City board appointments will be moving towards election based selection in the near future. Ogden Valley City and Huntsville residents who are interested in joining the OVPSA to assist with its mission to help create the best parks possible to serve all visitors, while being efficient with the use of tax funds, are welcome to apply to run for a position when the next board openings are announced.
The OVPSA board meets periodically at either the Eden Park Bowery or at Huntsville Town Hall, to discuss park development, operations, events, budgeting, and other matters affecting our parks service area. If you would like to attend an OVPSA board meeting, please refer to our schedule below or watch for an upcoming agenda to be posted.
